A Kansas Heritage Group site 163. Blue or purplish ray flowers, yellow disk flowers in daisy-like heads, outer bracts slightly curved downward. August--September
Leaves linear, bases straight, edges fringed with bristles, leaves bristle tipped.
Plant hairy, woody at the base. 3-14 in.
